A beautiful brass replica of a Nordic army shoe buckles from the 17th-18th century. This particular design could be found throughout the armies in northern Europe. However, the buckles of similar design could be found among civilians as the army acted as a trendsetter during this time period.
Furthermore, as an interesting piece of trivia, you can identify this as a Nordic buckle as it has a single buckle prong compared to other European shoe buckles having two prongs.
